Te African Media Initiative (AMI) seeks to strengthen the media sector, from an owner and operator perspective, so that it can play its full role in promoting social development, economic growth and in empowering citizens to hold governments and other institutions to account. AMI is incorporated in the Republic of Kenya as a non-profit, nongovernmental organiza- tion and enjoys the benefits of a Host Country Agreement with the Government. To strength- en its institutional building, AMI is looking to fill out the following positions. Te successful candidates will report to the CEO.
Director of Communications & Knowledge Management
Tis position is responsible for the overall coor- dination of AMI’s content production destined to improve the knowledge and capacity of its members; organize and implement AMI’s cor- porate communication towards its members,
supporters, stakeholders and other civil society and government entities.
Director of Strategy & Programmes
Tis position is responsible for the overall coordination of the implementation of AMI’s programmes. Te incumbent will work closely with the CEO and consultants to make sure that programme activities are deployed on time and on budget making sure that the core strategy of improving the media landscape to empower people remains at the center of AMI.
Director of Finance & Administration
Tis position is responsible for management and oversight of all financial processes and pro- cedures. Tese include budgeting coordination and budget monitoring, financial procedures and internal controls, accounts payable and purchasing integration, payroll systems, cash flow management, computerized accounting
systems and procedures, audits, and leadership management activities.
