Interesting FHigures Hometown Hockey Heroes


Jessica Frantz


(Saylorsburg, PA) Frantz led Division II and set East Stroudsburg’s season record with 32 goals on her way to first team NFHCA All-America status during the 2010 season. She had the game-winning goal in 11 of the Warriors’ 17 victories and also added six assists. Her season featured four hat tricks, including a five-goal game against Mansfield.


Stephanie Cooper


Stephanie Cooper (Doylestown, PA) has been playing field hockey since second grade. She is a member of the Viper Black Club team and was the captain at the 2011 National Indoor Tournament in Richmond, VA. Cooper hopes to play collegiate level field hockey.


Dominic Nishiguchi


Dominic Nishiguchi (Chula Vista, CA) was introduced to the sport by his sister Mailyn and her coach Jose Carrillo. Dominic was the youngest member and captain of his boys team and participated in the Asics League at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA this winter. His ultimate goal is to make it onto the Men’s National Team.


Victoria Warzeski


Victoria Warzeski (East Rochester, NY) has volunteered her time to run clinics for local girls to try the sport of field hockey. Victory is not measured by the number of wins or losses but rather by improvement and understanding of the game. She instills passion and determina- tion in each of her athletes.


Maddy Carpenter


Maddy Carpenter (Wilbraham, MA) was selected as one of two goalies to the USA National U-21 Team. Carpenter’s selection to the U21 team keeps her on pace to make the USA Olympic team down the road. Carpenter will be attending Northwestern University in the fall of 2011 to play for Coach Tracey Fuchs.

15 Kellie Joyce


Kellie Joyce (South Pomfret, VT) helped the KUA Wildcats win three NEPSAC Championships during her career. Joyce was a Regional All-American selection as a junior and has competed in five National Futures Champi- onships and three AAU Junior Olympic Games. Joyce will join the University of New Hamp- shire’s field hockey program in the Fall 2011.
