directors and 2011-2012 AFS offi - cers, including new President Timo- thy McMillin, Fairmount Minerals Ltd., Chardon, Ohio, new Vice President Michael Selz, Charlotte Pipe & Foundry, Charlotte, N.C., and new 2nd Vice President Dennis Dotson, Dotson Iron Castings, Mankato, Minn. AFS’s highest awards—the AFS Gold Medals—were given to John Serra, Carpenter Brothers Inc., Milwaukee, for his role in developing nobake technology and service to AFS committees and chapters, and Doru Stefanescu, Ohio State Univ., Columbus, Ohio, for his contributions to the develop- ment of computational model- ing and research on metal penetration in sand casting, thin wall iron castings and the casting skin.
