BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions re-signs as chief IMHX sponsor
Following the success of IMHX 2010, BNP Paribas Leasing Solutionshas announced its sponsorship of IMHX 2013. The sponsorship of the event in 2010 provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the skills, expertise and commitment focused on the materials handling market which is a cornerstone business sector of BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions, both within the UK and also at
international level. IMHX 2010 was an ideal venue for BNP Paribas Leasing Solution’s MH division to establish and develop further many significant relationships with Manufacturers and Dealer partners. Both managers from the UK and international
managers attending from the Paris office were very impressed with the exhibition. BNP Paribas Real Estate was also present, providing
two key note presentations on industrial and logistics property.
Nigel Samson, head of partner sales at
BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions, commented, “Within our business, the whole team is focused on providing excellent service to our customers throughout the supply chain. This pursuit of excellence is very evident within IMHX, and therefore we are delighted to make the decision to continue our sponsorship.” http://leasingsolutions.

Toyota rebooks for IMHX 2013
Hot on the heels of the BNP sponsorship announcement (see separate story), there has been further good news for Quartz Publishing & Exhibitions, organisers and co-owners of the IMHX trade show. The world's largest manufacturer of fork lift trucks, Toyota Material Handling, has again agreed to take a sizeable stand at the 2013 event. The news is a shot in the arm for the UK materials handling industry, which enjoyed a successful IMHX last November and which is now making a steady recovery from the recession. Tony Wallis, operations director at
Toyota Material Handling UK, told us why Toyota had decided to rebook for IMHX 2013: "IMHX 2010 was a great success for Toyota, and IMHX is the showcase for the materials handling industry in the UK. The show is always professionally managed and coordinated, and we enjoy the opportunity to provide a clear message to our customers of our products and services.
"Despite the harsh reality of the economy, we enjoyed our best show ever for the number of leads and opportunities presented post show. We have achieved some notable success since the show as a

direct result of our attendance. In addition, we used the opportunity to strengthen our existing relationships by having all products and services on show at the event."
Toyota's presence at IMHX 2011 was certainly spectacular, as it is bound to be at the imminent CeMAT 2011 event, which gets underway in

BITA stats guru steps down
BITA, the British Industrial Truck Association, has announced the retirement of Frank Hopper as chair of its Statistics Committee, which provides BITA members with world-leading market intelligence. He will be succeeded by David Miller from Toyota Material Handling UK. In the UK, BITA is the sole provider of industrial truck sales statistics, contributed by, and only made available to, BITA members. BITA’s sales statistics provide an ongoing illustration of market conditions. After 26 years' service on BITA’s Statistics Committee and 16 as its chair, Frank Hopper has seen many changes during his tenure including the change from manual completion of A3 spreadsheets to the current sophisticated computerized data-
crunching supplied by Systematics. Secretary general of BITA, James Clark, said, “BITA has the insight and foresight of Frank Hopper to thank for the fact that today BITA is at the forefront of industrial truck statistics throughout the world. Our objective is to continue to provide our members what they want in the most efficient and confidential way possible, and thanks to Frank’s work, we are achieving that. “As Frank hands the baton on to David Miller, BITA has a clear lead on other European countries. We are fortunate that David, who is already a long-serving member of the Statistics Committee, brings stability, reliability and foresight and experience to the role.”

getting its messages out to a wider audience, a strategy which appears to be paying dividends, if IMHX 2010 is anything to go by.
