VA TePla AG, Wettenberg, a manufacturer of silicon crystallization systems as well as vacuum

and high-temperature systems, published its preli- minary consolidated figures for the fiscal year 2010. Consolidated sales revenues amounted to EUR120 million (previous year: EUR 134.7 million). Incoming orders increased from EUR69.0 million in the previ- ous year to EUR93 million in 2010. As at December 31, 2010, the order backlog amounted to EUR53 million (previous year: EUR87.8 million).

The decline in business volume compared to 2009 is the result of the reduced order backlog during the economic and financial crisis of 2009. The encoura- ging rise in incoming orders in 2010 is due to lively demand for vacuum systems, plasma systems, analy- tical systems, and float-zone systems. http://www.pvatepla.com

ainDance Technologies, Inc. and Ambry Genetics, announced a new collaboration fo-

cused on the development and commercialization of a comprehensive drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) genetic screening panel for use on next-generation sequencing (NGS) systems. RainDance Technologies is pioneering the use of high-throughput microdroplet-based ana- lysis in human health and life science research. The company‘s core RainStorm™ technology generates millions of discrete droplets that can encapsulate a single molecule, cell or reaction and be digitally ana- lyzed and sorted one at a time. The power, simplicity and precision of microdroplets enable researchers to answer complex questions with unprecedented sensitivity and quantification. http://www.raindancetech.com http://www.ambrygen.com

a Envitech launched a new wastewater treatment technology with RECAM®

. The company is an

Italian company which focuses on the research, de- velopment and industrialization of nanotechnologies and nanostructured materials for wastewater treat- ment. The innovative nanostructured material has particular properties in terms of contaminants remo- val such as PAH, boron, COD, MTBE, chlorinated solvents, arsenic, phenols, chromium VI, and it is particular effective from wastewater and groundwa- ter remediation. RECAM®

is inert, has no negative

impacts on the environment and has passed all the tests from the Italian Ministry of the Environment. http://www.sa-envitech.com

emiLEDs Corporation (NASDAQ: LEDS), a developer and manufacturer of LED chips and

LED components, introduced the new I-Do™ LED, an innovative new chip that will be featured in Semi- LEDs’ ultra high brightness LED product portfolio.

I-Do is the second generation of the I-Core AK™ series of LEDs from SemiLEDs, which are designed to provide further improvements in brightness, reliabi- lity and overall efficiency. The I-Do LED features a new design with advantages in improved reliability, optimization of current distribution and lower for- ward voltages at high current operations of 700mA and 1A. The I-Do LED is not only more reliable, but significantly brighter as the creative design produces improved internal quantum efficiency. In a white light package, a 45 mil I-Do chip can deliver up to 135 lm at 350mA with CCT of 5000-7000K, more than a 10% improvement over the previous gene- ration. With increased efficiency, reliability and the lowest thermal resistance in the market, the I-Do chip is ideal for small footprint, high performance
