4 A WET NEWS AND WWT SUPPLEMENT
There’s never been a greater need for IWEX
I
n its 25th year, IWEX – The International Water and Effluent Exhibition, will once again be the place to be for everyone working in the UK water industry.
With sustainable water
management being a major focus for business and with utility companies looking for innovative ways to meet the challenge, there’s never been a greater need for IWEX and its unrivalled reputation for bringing the latest ideas and key people together.
After a highly successful event in 2010, visitors to this year’s three-day show will once again discover a dynamic place to see new ideas, share expertise and do business. And in the context of an ever-changing economic and legislative situation, there is also a busy seminar programme each day.
These offer the chance to focus on some of the key issues facing the water industry, including the latest legislation, SUDS and flood management, FOG (fat oil and grease) solutions,
waste water management and smart metering. Visitors to IWEX can also tap into the expertise on offer at the other shows taking place as part of Sustainabilitylive!
There will be plenty of common ground to explore between the sustainability issues in the spotlight at IWEX and at the other four events - the Environmental Technology Exhibition (ET), the National Energy Management Exhibition (NEMEX), Brownfield Expo (BEX) and Sustainable Business – The Event (SB).
These close links mean you may find the answer to your business needs in more than one
place and the good news is registration for IWEX is free and also gives you free access to the other shows and their seminar programmes. There will also be chance to catch up on the latest research in the water industry with the return of one of the hits of last year, the IWEX University Challenge.
The 2010 winner was the University of Sheffield with their Data Driven Leak Detection project and you can find out what this year’s contenders have come up with when the presentations and judging take place in the Water Theatre on the Thursday, May 26. An extra highlight will be the 23rd Institute of Water National Drilling and Tapping Championship, certain to be as hotly-contested as ever. IWEX, the UK’s premier water industry event, takes place at the NEC Birmingham and runs from Tuesday, May 24 to Thursday, May 26. Registration is available at

Don´t waste money with wastewater
Caustic soda price fluctuations creating waves in your business?
Neutralac® SLS45 is a strong liquid lime with a stable price. Unlike caustic soda, Neutralac® SLS45 is produced on demand and not bound to the manufacture of chlorine, keeping supply secure and the cost stable.
Now you can consistently budget for wastewater treatment with fixed price contracts, while reducing reagent costs for flocculants and polymers.
