Extreme Sailing Series is here – the sailing team is obviously here – it’s a better place than Geneva! But the management side of things will be based in Switzerland because Rémi lives there and I live near there in Chamonix.” Mark Turner is executive chairman of the new company and Rémi Duchemin the CEO. “It sounds a bit grandiose for a very small company,” says Mark. “But it does explain the set up. Events, will continue to be a leading force in the sport of professional sailing as organisers of the Extreme Sailing Series, co-creators

and consultants to the Barcelona World Race, owners of The Transat single-handed transatlantic race, and organisers, on behalf of Artemis Investment Management, of The Artemis Challenge. Offshore Challenges, the sailing team division, will continue putting together effective racing campaigns, in the IMOCA circuit (most recently with Artemis Ocean Racing and BT Team Ellen), with Extreme 40s, and with the development of the Artemis Offshore Academy. OC Group also remains strategic and technical consultant to the Oman Sail project, which uses sailing to contribute to the development of Oman and Omanis, which OC helped create and develop in 2007. OC also continues to advise and work with other brands in sailing, such as, Nespresso with the Nespresso Cup. OC Vision, the Group’s digital agency, continues to provide fi rst- class supporting marketing services to both its own projects and those of key clients. OC Group also recently announced a strategic partnership with Yellowbrick for the operational delivery of its OCTracker yacht tracking service.

All these good things coming from sailing,

and yet one can never help thinking that Mark Turner, veteran of the Whitbread, ex- naval offi cer and all, sort of doesn’t really like
