technology products spectroscopy industrial grade models
Ibsen Photonics has introduced its new Rock VIS-NIR and XNIR line of industrial grade, robust OEM spectrometers for the 550-1,050nm and 1,175–2,185nm wavelength ranges, respectively. The Rock spectrometers typically enable four-times higher optical
throughput than traditional spectrometers due to a low f-number of f/2.2 and the use of Ibsen Photonics’ efficient transmission gratings. The gratings are manufactured using the company’s proprietary, high volume manufacturing process. The Rock VIS-NIR can be supplied with almost
any detector type.

new family of devices
Ocean Optics has launched a family of aberration- corrected diffraction grating spectrometers that delivers low stray light, high throughput and excellent thermal stability. Applications range from absorbance measurements of optically dense solutions to fluorescence measurements in solutions and powders. Torus is a compact visible spectrometer (360-825nm) with high throughput and low stray light (~0.015 per cent at 400nm). A flat field optical design and a reflective
holographic concave grating disperses light; the concavity of the Torus’ grating reflects and focuses the light and the grating groove pattern disperses the light. The toroidal nature of the grating further enhances the aberration correction and efficiency.

high resolution spectrometer
StellarNet has introduced the Black-Comet- HR spectrometer. Designed for high resolution applications, the spectrometer is available for measurements in two ranges – UV (200- 600nm) and visible (380-750nm) – and
reflective correction optics
McPherson has introduced new reflective correction optics for spectroscopy imaging applications with two dimensional CCD or CMOS type sensors. The optics are available for the company’s
Model 2061 high resolution, one metre focal length spectrometer. The McPherson spectrometer can
simultaneously monitor spectra from one
achieves resolving resolutions of 0.4nm. This 16-bit concave grating spectrometer
is USB2 powered, shock-proof and vibration tolerant with no moving parts, includes the powerful SpectraWiz spectrometer software and development kit. The Black-Comet spectrometers utilise a

hundred input fibres on one commercial 1,024 x 1,024 pixel, 13 x 13mm CCD. The one metre spectrometer accepts various snap-in diffraction gratings optimised for spectral resolution or for wavelength range coverage. With sensitive, cooled CMOS or CCD detectors, the accessible 50mm focal plane is well suited to intercepting and analysing simultaneously multiple spatially distinct spectral regions.

portable spectrometer
B&W Tek, a producer of optical spectroscopy and laser systems, has updated its i-Spec portable spectrophotometer. The newest i-Spec
model, the BWS005A, features an extended
InGaAs array detector with a built-in auto zero function resulting in exceptionally low noise and high dynamic range. It is designed with four
levels of gain, producing great results for most applications in low light level NIR detection. The i-Spec is ideal for agricultural, pharmaceutical, geological, and semiconductor applications. The i-Spec is equipped with silicon and InGaAs
array detectors, allowing it to measure from 350nm to 2,600nm. The spectrophotometer has optimised high throughput spectrographs, plug- and-play USB interface, broadband and high- speed measurement systems, and built-in high intensity light sources with forced air cooling.
