EnterTRAINment Junction FEC adds fun house

Ohio’s train-themed FEC,

EnterTRAINment Junction, has added a new attraction called A-Maze-N Funhouse. Billed as “The Greatest Fun House on Earth,” it features 7,000 square feet of weird and wacky attractions including a mirror maze, curtain maze, spinning vortex tunnel, tilt room, claustrophobia hallway, an endless corridor and more.

Visitors are greeted by a large lobby designed like an old-time circus midway, leading off which are four sideshow tents, Curtain Chaos, Clown College, Mirror Maze (pictured left) and Outer Limits:

Rainbow Productions pleased to meet you!

“The start of 2011 has seen many bespoke branded mascots delivered by to British parks and attractions,” reveals Helen Ede of costume character company Rainbow Productions, based near London.

These include small wildlife attractions such as Beale Park in Berkshire and Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo in Pembrokeshire through to larger parks such as Alton Towers Resort and Chessington World of Adventures. Rainbow is also offering several new characters for personal appearances, providing event organisers and attraction operators with added entertainment and marketing opportunities. The company will now manage appearances by Ben 10 and Water Hazard, Captain Barnacles from the Octonauts, Little Charley Bear (from the creator of Bob the Builder) and Driver Dan.

Journey Through The Black Hole. The mirror maze is one of the largest of its kind in North America. Curtain Chaos, meanwhile, is a bewildering maze of twists, turns and dead-ends through hanging curtains that test a visitor’s sanity and sense of direction. Clown College features rooms to confound and confuse. The clowns have abandoned the building, but left behind a visual jumble of

perception distortions, starting with a hallway with clown photos that react when a guest pushes a button to make a clown’s bow tie spin or squirt water. This just begins a bizarre journey of surprises where visitors seem to grow or shrink merely by walking across a room (called an Ames Room), challenge a tilted room, marvel at a gravity-defying ball that rolls uphill, and laugh at their distorted reflection in classic fun house mirrors.

In Outer Limits: Journey Through The Black Hole, guests enjoy an outer space encounter as they are channelled through a wild, spinning vortex tunnel then launched into a black hole with a dizzying array of glowing stars and planets. Visitors must escape by squeezing through a claustrophobia room. Concept designer for the fun house was Bruce Robinson concept designer, with Oak Island designing and fabricating the Mirror Maze and Journey Through the Black Hole. A local company, SNR did the lobby space and Ames and Tilt rooms. A-Maze-N FunHouse replaces EnterTRAINment Junction’s Victorian Village walk- through attraction. The Journey to the North Pole themed walk-through remains, but opens only at Christmas. New Halloween and Christmas experiences are promised later in the year.

New at Silver Dollar City

Designed and constructed in- house, Half Dollar Holler is a brand-new $1 million play area planned for Silver Dollar City, Branson, Missouri. The woodland wonderland will feature a treetop trail, swings, sand tables and the Storytelling Stage. Also featured, as part of the new area will be Hugo and Mary's Carousel.
