IEEE collaborates with Access Innovations IEEE (the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) has collaborated with Access Innovations, to complete a comprehensive re-indexing of approximately 2.1 million of the 2.8 million IEEE article records in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library database. To complete the latest project, Access Innovations used an implementation of Data Harmony Metadata Extractor to determine the article’s content type and then built an improved rules base to identify content types in order for each type to be indexed in a specifi c way using the IEEE Thesaurus. www.ieee.org; www.accessinn.com


Taylor & Francis announce six new e-book collections Taylor & Francis is launching six new eFocus collections, taking the total up to 17. All of the collections include a cross-section of materials including reference works, overviews, and original research to provide a wealth of material for a wide range of users. Maney passes 100 journals Maney Publishing has published its 100th journal with the release of the fi rst 2011 issue of Journal of Spinal Cord Medicine. The imprint’s fi rst journals appeared in 1998. In addition, the publisher hopes to have added a further seven titles by the end of 2011. www.maney.co.uk

IGI Global journals and reference books will be searchable via EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS). An agreement between EBSCO and IGI Global will allow metadata for 131 journals and 1,500 reference books to be added to the Base Index of EDS. Metadata that will be available via EDS include IGI Global’s peer reviewed journals and its collection of reference books. Content from Credo Reference will also be discoverable within EDS. Metadata from Credo General Reference, Credo Topic Pages


and Publisher Collections will be added to the EDS Base Index. This addition will impact searchers using the EDS single search interface by providing reference content and overviews of top research topics.


Content from Credo General Reference includes nearly 10,000 Credo Topic Pages, which provide overview, background and connections to additional library resources, and Credo Reference Publisher Collections, which offer subject-specifi c reference titles. www.ebscohost.com/ discovery

German controlling journal goes international


The German-language journal Zeitschrift für Planung und Unternehmenssteuerung (ZP) is now published entirely in English under the title Journal of Management Control (JoMaC).The journal editors and Springer said that they decided to make this move to keep up with the increasingly international nature of research in this fi eld. The journal appears four times a year and features papers on business management topics in the
