boats is that they’re custom made and come sporting all sorts of funky paint jobs.You can even get your boat made to match your personality,or cultural heritage. A red and orange tartan paddled by a redhead was my personal favorite. As in most slalom races,open boaters get two runs in each class.
However, unlike closed boat slalom, paddlers get scored for their best run, instead of the combined times. For each gate touched by boat, paddle, hand or body part, you get a 10-second penalty. If you miss a gate (which means your head fails to come between the
poles and your boat and body don’t pass between the span of the gate), you’re nailed for 50 seconds.

of prominent folk in the field, including Stefan Krajewski, Mike Yee, John Kazimierczyk and the venerable Bob Foote, presented a bit more of a challenge than some were
