Gentlemen, please have a gander at rapid-
mag.com where you’ll find a pile of back issues posted. Check it out. The technology is pretty cool. The full magazines are posted online as you’d read them in print, except of course you can’t enjoy them on the bus. Online, you’re able to turn pages, read articles and even click on ads to get more information on boats, trips and gear. There, Pablo, Zach and Mr. R. Farhan Hasbu, you will be able to sample Rapid free of charge. If you find that you enjoy it. I have an idea… Subscribe!—Ed.
Forty-six year old white male happy to be guinea pig I've just gotten interested in kayaking and quite enjoy your magazine, especially the boat comparisons. I have been looking to buy my first boat and find the articles useful, though still a bit confusing. How about reverse engineering this idea? Take a few paddlers with differing skill levels, physical attributes, preferences for what they want to do, and geographic loca- tions. You could then recommend a few boats that would best fit their needs. I'd happily be your first guinea pig. I'm a
46-year-old male, 6'3" tall, and 230 pound novice paddler living near Calgary. I'm mostly interested in river running but would like a boat versatile enough to do some basic tricks and manoeuvres. I'll never be one of those freestyle experts you feature. I would probably never be on the water more than 15 days a year, so I'll never have a high skill level. As a skier I stick to the intermediate runs. You get the picture. Any boat suggestions?
What you have here Dana is a very good idea, in theory. I’m a big fan of getting “normal” pad- dlers to test boats and have dabbled with this in early boat reviews. Unfortunately, however,
