Canadian Freestyle Kayak and Canoe Team Trials are to be held September 4-5 on the Kananaskis River. Twenty-three spots, on the Canadian team bound for the 2005 World’s in Penrith, Australia, are up for grabs… Resurrection day is August 7th for Rutherford Creek. The run-of-river project, that united the B.C. paddling community against unchecked hydro development, is ready to open the valves on the man-made whitewater facility. “Expert boaters” will test out the channel at different water levels and suggest tweaks and changes to make it safer… Another year, another successful Kananaskis Whitewater Party… errr… Festival. Advanced junior kayaker Paul Manning-Hunter nailed a perfect bowling score of 300. The two entrants in the open canoe rodeo category, Paul Shurvin and Mary Bowles, tied… There is whitewater in Saskatchewan. Saskatoon resident, Gavin Broadbent says the Gardner Dam outflow has some sweet play spots frequented by a half-dozen local paddlers. Sask Power doesn’t release flow times, so sometimes a trip to the river turns into a two-hour drive to see wheat fields… How do you win a big air competition? It’s easy: throw a no-hands donkey flip.That’s what Dylan Davidson threw, off the 25-foot kayak ramp, to win the
