Guy deBoer | GD: What is Florida Virtual School? Julie Young | JY: Florida Virtual School is the largest virtual school in the world and is part of our public school system here in the state of Florida. We offer courses to home schooled, private school


and public school students virtually throughout the state, free of charge. We have over 100 courses, and we are serving over 100,000 students here in the state as a supplement and an addition to what our students are receiving in their traditional schools.

Most of the time when people hear virtual school they immediately think of a person who is isolated at home by themselves with a computer, but in actuality the majority of our students are private, public or charter school students who are taking one to three courses with us to supplement a course their school was not offering.
