fleetwas its twice-weekly 60-tonne payload A330-200 freighter service toHong Kong,which it brought in during October last year. At the time of the inaugural Etihad Crystal Cargo freighter flight toHong Kong, Kinnear described the carrier’s fourth dedicated freighter destination in China as“an important strategic addition to our freight network. As one of theworld’s busiest cargo hubs, Hong Kong’s huge growth potential gives us a strengthened product to offer our global key accounts”.
Hong Kong – theworld’s second-busiest air cargo hub Recently, Etihad Airways said itwill boost its services to
the US, Europe and China through newflights and the introduction of largerwidebody equipment – two ’B777- 300ER (Extended Range) aircraft and three A330-300swith a substantial bellyhold capacity – being brought into its fleet this summer. The newadditions to its growing fleetwill allowEtihad
to step up its five times aweek B777-300ER flight to Beijing to a daily service. Later this year, the airlinewill receive its first 103-tonne
capacity B777-200 freighter,whichwill allowit to offer more destinations andmuchmore flexibility in the operation of its cargo network. Etihad CEOJamesHogan believes that 2011will be
“one of themost important years in Etihad’s history aswe add depth and scale to our operation”.
