FALLS CHURCH, VA.— Applications are now being accepted for scholarships awarded through the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors — National Association (PHCC) Educational Foundation Scholarship Program. In 2011, up to 18 scholarships totaling $48,000 are


available. The scholarship awards are sponsored by A.O. Smith Water Heaters, Bradford White Water Heaters, Delta Faucet Company, the PHCC Educational Foundation Scholarship Fund, the South Jersey Mechanical Contractors Association, the PHCC of Massachusetts


PHCC Texas flushes competition


PHCCTexas provides State Board-approved continuing education courses in plumbing and HVAC, plus training in medical gas, residential and commercial code, OSHA, lead paint certification, fire sprinkler installation and backflow prevention tester. PHCC-TX also offers test prep training for the Master Test, the Journeyman/Tradesman test and a revolutionary Apprentice Training program. PHCCTexas announced a 100% pass rate in 2009 – 2010 for the Journeyman

Tradesman exam for all 88 students who took the prep course.The contents of this weekend training course include 16 hours on plumbing definitions, basic use of code books,water heaters, vent sizing, quality and weights, traps and cleanouts, interceptors and backwater valves, plumbing fixtures, plumbing layouts, indirect waste piping and special wastes and more.On top of the invaluable classroom training hours the instructors also provide the students with a model plumbing house for hands-on training experience.The two men responsible for the highest documented pass rate in PHCC-TX history are Todd Iocco and Robert Piazza.
