Teva bites into bike and barefoot footwear markets
Teva has launched two new products that it said will transform the bike and barefoot footwear markets
C
alifornia-based outdoor adventure brand, Teva, has launched the Links, its first ever bike shoe.
Links has been designed in collaboration with world-class pro freeride and trials mountain biker Jeff Lenosky and is a purpose-built ‘freeride’ shoe equipped with numerous technical features. Like Teva’s traditional performance products, the Links has outstanding traction with uncompromising water management
technologies the company said. It features a sole specifically designed to interface with
the unique platform of a bike pedal, which is made from Teva's proprietary Spider365 sticky rubber.
Teva said an aggressive tread pattern on the toe and heel provides great traction off the bike, while the shoe also has flexible armor in key wear areas and uses ion-mask water-repellant nano coating technology for complete water management. A Shoc-Pad in the heel provides critical cushioning and the Mush-infused insole adds comfort.
Style-wise, Teva said Links is bold and bright but also restrained with all the hi-tech, high- performance features packaged in a cool, sneaker-style outer. Mesh panels, contrast stitching and other style details help keep the Links highly usable on the streets as well as up the mountain, Teva said.

build this shoe. We didn’t compromise on any aspect of the design, using the very best materials, style and technology available. I’ve been wearing them and riding in them for a few months and I’m really proud of the finished product.”
The launch of the Links represents a natural progression for Teva as the brand has been supporting freeride mountain biking for over five years through its sponsorship of the Teva Mountain Games – one of the world’s top ten freeride events. In addition to Lenosky and the Teva Mountain Games, Teva will be announcing further support of other mountain bike riders and
