As they say, it’s all about attitude. We hope we’ll put a smile on your face as you click through our websites and read our magazine. We’ve tried to make your search for your retirement home a little easier by providing you with as much information as possible, both in print and online. We know how stressful this process can be. Te Retirement Living Network is the largest network of

retirement websites in the Southeast and our magazine, 2011 Hot Retirement Towns, is the off-line companion of the RLN. We hope these resources will take the stress out of the retirement home-buying process. I’ve called the Southeast region home most of my life, and it is obvious by the thousands of users who access the RLN each month that many Northeast and Midwest residents have a strong desire to call this region home, as well. Google tells us that many of our users live in the Midwest and Northeast and spend plenty of time on RLN checking out the articles and information about retire- ment, real estate and relocation to the Southeast. On each of the websites that make up the RLN, users can read the “green” edition of this magazine. You might want to send this link to your friends and family members so they, too, can read this green magazine: www.HotRetirementTowns.com/retiringbystate/. I’ve traveled over the years to hundreds of towns and cities throughout this

region. Many have been featured by our editors and writers within the pages of this magazine, and many more have been featured online on the RLN. Here in the South, we are proud to boast that our way of life, attitudes, traditions and rich history are unlike that of any other place you’ve visited or lived. Te pleasant year-round weather encourages outdoor activities, from golf to boating to a day on the beach, which enhances our positive attitude. Other important aspects of the Southeast that contribute to our state of mind are lower taxes and real estate prices, less traffic congestion and an abundance of small business opportunities. Te truth of the matter is that life is what you make of it. You can have a good

attitude regardless of where you live. But there’s nothing like no snow, lots of sunshine and a good old Southern attitude.
