loy exhibit a different behavior when solution treated. It is worth noting again that the there is no magnesium present in this alloy. The strength of these composites do not all rise with longer solution times. The Saffil composite continues to increase in strength up to ten hours. There are increased bonding areas evident on the fiber surfaces of the six and ten hours tests (Fig 5). The failure strain (or ductility) increased correspondingly in these composites.
