Remembering the Holocaust

The NUT and the Holocaust Education Trust are hosting a reception on 31 January to mark Holocaust Memorial Day 2011. The event, at NUT HQ, will see the relaunch of teaching resources Paul's Journey and Martin and Erica's Journey.

Paul's Journey tells the story of Paul Oppenheimer, a contemporary of Anne Frank, who survived the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. Martin and Erica's Journey tells how Jewish brother and sister Martin and Erica Stern were sent to prison camps and ghettos around Europe during WW2, eventually resettling in England.

Download Martin and Erica's Journey and teaching notes from the NUT website at www.teachers.org.uk/node/9171, and Paul's Journey and teaching notes from www.teachers.org.uk/node/9727.

If you'd like to attend the reception, email your name and contact details to edutemp3@nut.org.uk by 21 January.
