LAB solar secures an additional SEK18 million in financing from industrial partner Fasadglas

Bäcklin AB, Scandinavias largest glass facade com- pany. The purpose of the partnership and financing is to accelerate product development at NLAB Solar and reduce time to market. NLAB Solar will be using the funds to construct one of the world‘s first pilot plants for production of 3rd generation solar cells – Dye Sensitized Solar Cells (DSC) –, in Stockholm.

NLAB Solar was founded in 2008 as a daughter com- pany to the materials development company Nano- logica AB. As a previous participant at the Stockholm Clean Tech Venture Day, NLAB Solar was one of the most attended companies at the event. The company collaborates with a number of enterprises, research groups and government agencies world-wide, among them their strategic partner YKI (National Institute for Surface Chemistry), NICe – Nordic Innovation Cen- tre, VINNOVA (The Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems) and the European Commissi- on.

bducat (NGM: OBDU B) published its interim report for January to September 2010. The

third quarter sales were SEK6.9 million ($1.09m); profits after taxes were SEK-15.3 million ($-2.28m) and earnings per share per before dilution were SEK- 1.89 ($-0.28).

During the quarter Obducat received a conditional order for a semi-automatic Sindre system. The customer will jointly with end customers evaluate their LED components with, if successful, the inten- tion of confirming the order towards the end of the first quarter of 2011. Since the order is conditional, Obducat has chosen to include it neither in the order intake for the quarter, nor in the order stock. The conditional order is valued at approx. SEK 8 million.

Obducat continues to be involved in several LED market related customer projects. Customers’ busi- nesses vary from supplying other companies with patterned substrates to securing their own supply of components for proprietary consumer products. http://www.obducat.com

xford Advanced Surfaces Group Plc (OAS) have successfully completed the Technology Strategy

Board-funded project work on Customised Adhesi- on of Inter-layers for Plastic Electronics (CAIPE). The project aimed to develop a much needed solution to the persistent interlayer delamination problems facing device manufacturers in Plastic Electronics. In collaboration with their project partners PETEC (Printable Electronics Technology Centre) and OMIC (Organic Materials Innovation Centre) the technology has delivered robust adhesion between the different interfaces in the multilayer flexible electronic device.
