New fabrics produce eye-catching colour
Neschen has added two new fabrics to its range with the Dyetex flag 110 B1 and Dyetex display 220 B1. These new knitted polyester fabrics are said to offer excellent print through
characteristics and can be printed onto directly using dye- sublimation inks to produce colourful output. The resultant flags, banners and display systems are suitable for outdoor use or commercial and retail premises. Each is available in a choice of four widths including XXL in 50m rolls.

Wide format inkjet printer manufacturer, Mutoh, has introduced a new digital direct to fabric production printer with a moving adhesive belt system. The Viper TX Professional is a heavy- duty piezo drop-on-demand inkjet printer purpose-built for direct printing onto stretchable, knitted, woven and open structure fabrics, such as PES flag, cotton, nylon, lycra, silk and poplin. It is targeted at sample creation and production runs of customised and personalised fabrics, home decoration fabrics, sportswear and swimwear.
Available in various widths, the printer is expected to provide reliable and high quality fabric printing for the traditional textile and apparel markets at costs well below those associated with screen printing.
It should also improve lead times for a flexible and fast design-to-delivery cycle. The new Mutoh printer incorporates all the features required to accurately load, transport, meander control and tension, dry and roll up printed fabrics.

Roll into lamination
Image finishing specialist, Seal Graphics, has extended its range with the launch of entry-level roll laminator, the Seal 54 EL. Equipped with all basic functions, the device is ideal for professional application of finishing and protective films, as well as double- sided adhesive films.
The new model is designed to help printers and finishing houses new to film mounting and laminating to enter this sector at
minimal cost while still enjoying quality production.
The equipment features two silicone rollers, said to provide uniform quality such that the 54 EL can process pressure-activated materials up to a thickness of 25mm. The maximum width is 1,400mm and working speed can reach four metres per minute.

Invest in high speed garment printing
DTG has adapted its direct to garment printing machine to become a production line unit capable of producing high volumes while still maintaining flexibility. The standard K3 machine has eight sets of nozzles with four delivering white ink and four delivering CMYK. Now production of white shirts has been increased by firing the CMYK through all eight nozzles using two sets of ink. This delivers the ink quicker, increasing production.
Under test conditions printing a circa A4 colour print at 720 by 720dpi, the K3 printed 55 to 60 shirts per hour. Using average costing figures this equates to £0.15p per shirt. A concern you may have though is how the transport on the machine will handle this increase but this has already been considered and a set of extension rollers are available to handle the

increased throughput. They are placed at the entry and exit ends of the machine and have the capability to handle a number of pallets. This means that when feeding the machine the operator can effectively queue the work. After printing the exiting platen does not have to be removed immediately, leaving the operator free to finish whatever they are doing. This results in continuous production and bulk line quantities from the K3.
