Events Sponsored event preview: Online Information 2010
‘Discovering new ways of working in the linked and social web’ is the theme of this year’s Online Information Exhibition and Conference, which will take place from Tuesday 30 November to Thursday 2 December at the Grand Hall Olympia, London, UK. Online Information’s free- to-attend exhibition attracts more than 9,000 attendees from over 40 countries. The show covers six subject areas: content resources; ePublishing solutions; library management; content management; search solutions; and social media. The event also includes
feature areas including the XML Pavilion, which will look at many aspects of creating and publishing XML – for ebooks, print and the web. There will also be the new Library Management Zone, which will include companies
involved in library systems, library security and RFID. The Library Management Zone has been introduced to give exhibition visitors the opportunity to get to grips with new systems and technologies designed specifically for library environments. There are also more than 100 show-floor seminar
sessions. The subject areas of these include: Content Management;
Search Solutions; Epublishing Solutions
and Ebooks;
European Librarian Theatre and International Forums; Global Business Information Forum; Information Masterclass and Career Development Talks;
Enterprise
Marketing Through Social Media; and STM Information in Focus. In addition, there will be presentations in The Library Management Theatre of the new Library Management Zone. Online Information also features a three-day conference with presentations from more than 100 information industry experts. This year the conference has four tracks: Exploiting Open and Linked Data; Harnessing Opportunity from the Social Web and the Cloud; Information Professionals Demonstrating Value and Impact; and New Platforms and User Behaviours for Delivering Content.
