New SkyRiver cataloguing client works on Macs
SkyRiver has announced the availability of a SkyRiver Mac client. This should alleviate the need to switch from one operating system to another just for cataloguing. The SkyRiver cataloguing client also operates with all supported versions of Windows, including Windows 7.
One of the initial
installations of the SkyRiver Mac client is Providence
College, a member of the HELIN Consortium in Rhode Island. Mark Caprio, digital services and cataloguing librarian at Providence College, said: ‘Over and above the benefits that SkyRiver brings to our cataloguing operations, the Mac client allows me to navigate seamlessly through the various applications I have on my Mac workstation’.

Springer will publish Chinese meteorological journal
Springer will publish the official journal of the Chinese Meteorological Society, Acta Meteorologica Sinica, from January 2011. The peer-reviewed journal joins Springer’s Chinese Library of Science, a collection of more than 90 Chinese research journals.
Acta Meteorologica Sinica
provides a platform for atmospheric-sciences research papers from all over the world. It publishes articles in all branches of meteorology, including topics such as pure and applied meteorology, climatology and climate change, marine meteorology and atmospheric physics.
