New journal advises cardiology practitioners


A new journal, Innovations in Cardiac Rhythm Management, has been launched by MediaSphere Medical. The launch was in partnership with The Charlesworth Group, which assisted with journal design and layout, providing copyediting and support, and creating XML based templates and workfl ows.


Innovations in Cardiac Rhythm Management is a peer-reviewed, monthly publication focusing on articles that have practical relevance and content directly applicable to the clinician’s daily practice. The style of the journal aims to be clear and concise to help readers understand and quickly apply research fi ndings. The print and online content focuses largely on

Publishing Technology, which provides software and services to the publishing industry, has announced the launch of three new Pub2web websites: PierOnline (for Sunmedia), the World Bank eLibrary, and the OECD iLibrary. Pub2web provides custom web platforms, tailored to any business model and any type of content. PierOnline (developed


for Sunmedia) is Publishing Technology’s fi rst venture into the Japanese market. It hosts 36 journals from seven Japanese publishers and has a full Japanese-language interface. The OECD iLibrary is the prime vehicle for disseminating the OECD’s intellectual output containing some 390 complete databases and 5,500 books. www.publishingtechnology.com


IEEE launches eLearning Library


IEEE has launched an IEEE eLearning Library. The library includes nearly 200 short online courses in core and emerging technologies. Each course was developed and peer-reviewed by subject experts.


The courses also award continuing education units (CEU) or professional development hours (PDH) upon successful completion.


IEEE eLearning Library courses can be viewed in the IEEE Xplore digital library and accessed via the IEEE Learning Management System (LMS). The IEEE LMS allows users to keep track of their courses and progress, then print out the continuing-education certifi cates that they have earned. www.ieee.org/go/elearning


IOP launches Spanish-language website


The site has been launched in response to research by the publisher among scientists, librarians and students in Latin America about scholarly communications. The site will have
