BANGKOK IS AN exciting steamy metropolis, and the perfect antidote to the quiet beaches of the south, or the jungles and mountains up north. Despite its size, Bangkok has a great infrastructure, and its transport is just as much part of the city experience as the places it takes you to: tuk tuks, motorcycle taxis, river ferries, sky trains or subways, whichever mode you choose, it’s cheap and efficient. There’s a plethora of smart hotels
particularly around the river and Sukhumvit Road but you don’t have to go sky-high for something special with some lovely boutique properties now offering that individual touch. Bangkok’s draws are fabulous hotels,
great value shopping, a lively nightlife and easy sightseeing.
