1970 • The Bluebook, as in the past, lists every NCGA member of every club and his or her handicap (since Slope had yet to be instituted, there was no index, just a round number).
• NCGA membership costs $6 and with their handicap cards, NCGA members receive a $4 discount on green fees at the Del Monte Forest’s newest course, Spyglass Hill.
• The Association serves as a travel agent, booking charter flights to Europe and Japan and organizing golf tours.

1980 • John Zoller begins his first full year as the Association’s second executive director, succeeding Bob Hannah.
• CBS’ Bobby Clampett (pictured) captures the State Amateur
• California golf
legend Charlie Seaver is NCGA president
• The Association boasts 275 member clubs and 68,000 NCGA members
• Payment is 60% complete on 164.42 acres in the Del Monte Forest that will become Poppy Hills

2000 • The Association officially kicks off its centennial celebration at the annual meeting in October at Castlewood CC
• The Y2K virus has no effect on GHIN posting computers
• Tiger Woods records two epic wins at Pebble Beach, overcoming a seven-stroke deficit with seven holes to go to win the AT&T and overwhelm- ing the field at the U.S. Open
• For the first time,
ncga.org immediately lists the results of all qualifiers and tournaments
