The Black-Legged Tick, or Deer Tick, is the primary tick associ- ated with infecting humans with Lyme disease and could be the reason be- hind those unexplained symptoms. The earlier Lyme disease is diag- nosed and treated, the more success- ful treatment can be and less likely that someone with the disease will develop serious complications, such as meningitis or arthritis. Diagnosing Lyme disease can be diffi cult consid- ering not everyone will experience all symptoms and the symptoms that do occur can take effect months or sometimes years after the initial bite.
