Letter from the President & Executive Director

Our Senior Center is celebrating 50 years of service, and you will be inspired by stories inside this annual report that illustrate how we have a positive impact on our entire community. Our fundamental role is as a com-

munity center that over 8,000 individuals use annually through our own programs and scores of community collaborations on-site and throughout the area.

Individuals are enriched as we help them remain independent by making new friends and having

fun, staying well physically and mentally, traveling, and exploring their creativity and spirituality.

Our entire community benefits, thanks to the thousands of seniors who, because they remain independent, continue to be an asset for their families and others. Indeed, our Center encour- ages people to do for themselves and for each other. Our volunteer program connects people who have wisdom, experience, and passion, and encourages them to mentor the next generation, help animal welfare and envi- ronmental groups, and engage in literally hundreds of other projects that benefit the volunteers as well as the organizations and people they serve.

You will also read about the standard of excellence we achieve in all we do, as indicated by community awards we received this year.

This year we are honoring our past while celebrating the present.

As we plan for the future and the booming senior population, with your continued support the Senior Center will achieve even greater success for generations to come.

Thank you.

Mary Reese President 2009–2010 Member Since 1996
