Christopher Ward’s best selling sport’s chronograph has been upgraded in a 200 piece limited edition to Chronometer standard having gained the prestigious Controle Officiel Suisse de Chronometres (COSC) accreditation.

Anniversary Christopher Ward is marking its fifth birthday with the launch of a new quartz driven update on the C5 Malvern – one of its first ever watches. CW Forum members met in the summer for a watch-talk session (left) where they saw early prototypes.

C20 Lido Automatic joins main collection


Following 2009’s sell-out limited edition launch for CW Forum members only, the C20 Lido Automatic is joining the collection in an updated form.


In a move on from the original, the modified case houses an ETA 2836-2 automatic movement with day and date functions. The design features a central guilloché pattern – a classic European watch face design. See page 47 for details

If you’ve wondered how the mysterious Christopher Ward coding system works, here’s how. Each watch in the collection is coded with the series number and a reference made up of three less than obvious initials.


This is how the initials work. The first letter identifies the case, for example Sindicates steel. The second letter indicates face colour, here Wis for white, and the final letter refers to the strap type – T indicates tan leather. The system is complicated by the addition of bracelets, strap options such as alligator, and by the use of K for black – because Bis for blue.


Hence, C15 SWT indicates a C15 Henley Automatic with a steel case, a white dial and a tan leather strap. It’s easy when you know how.
