said in John 13:35, “By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” See also 2 Corinthians 2:14-17; and 1 Timothy 6:1-2.
Pray for churches to get outside their buildings and meet the needs of the people in the com-
munity. See Matthew 25:31-46. “‘For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you took care of Me; I was in prison and you visited Me.’
Begin to pray by name for all elected people serving in your town or city. See Romans 13:1-7; Titus 3:1, 8; 1 Timothy 2:1-4. “First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, 2 for kings and all those who are in authority...”
Ask God to give you and your church a burden to pray by name for every lost person living in your community around your church. See Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Corinthians 1:11; and Galatians 2:19-20.

• Doctors, nurses or medical staff you know or encounter
• Waiters or waitresses serving you in restaurants • Fellow travelers on buses, trolleys or trains
• Service people who enter your home for tech- nology, plumbing, electricity or landscape
• Children’s school teachers, sports coaches, art, music or dance instructors
• Barber or beautician
• Fellow club members or Sunday school members

Pray for God to give you an urgency to pray for and share His Good News with others. There- fore be alert, since you don’t know what day your Lord is coming (Matthew 24:42). See also Matthew 25:13; and 2 Corinthians 3:5-6, 12.
