New Holland Stand: OA204
New Holland will be at the RWM to showcase its product offering dedicated to this growing industry sector. Visitors to New Holland’s outdoor stand will see the E235B crawler excavator featuring the exclusive Integrated Noise & Dust reduction (iNDr) cooling system. Air is drawn down through ducts up high in the integrated counterweight, it then passes through a pre-screen, preventing the larger particles of debris and dust from reaching the cooling components. This allows the cooling components and engine to run at maximum efficiency with the minimum amount of maintenance.
The W190B wheel loader on display is a medium-sized machine with a big performance. Its highly efficient cooling system, outstanding all round visibility and exceptional stability make it particularly well suited for waste handling applications. The D180 dozer will be shown with Low Ground Pressure tracks, ideal for landfill applications as the wide tracks that help the machine “float” on soft materials. It has a very low centre of gravity, which translates into exceptional stability.
The highly manoeuvrable L160 skid steer loader will complete the display. This compact and exceptionally stable machine is a real workhorse. At the RWM exhibition it will be shown with solid tyres, which protect against punctures in applications such waste rehandling.

In the processing of domestic or industrial waste there is a high risk for generating a fire. Waste recycling plants process many different flammable materials such as rubber, plastic, paper, wood, fabrics to name a few, all of which have relatively low ignition thresholds. One of the key operations within a waste recycling plant is shredding of the material into manageable pieces. The shredder is a rotating system of knives and cutters that tear and rip the material, generating high frictional forces which can lead to local heating of the waste materials. If unchecked, this material can ignite with potentially devastating consequences. Firefly’s ShredderGuard stops fires by cooling potential ignition sources using a system of highly sensitive infra red detectors and high speed water extinguishing. For each activation water is applied to the material as it leaves the shredder, extinguishing all flames or burning particles before they move further through the process. Orthos will exhibit Firefly’s ShredderGuard system for the first time in the UK.
