ONCE UPON A TIME, Michael Morph used to sell gas door- to-door. The fact that he did it with Chris from Crazy P, suggests that he was always destined for something more.
Michael’s debut album ‘Something for the Weakened’ (out now on Pure Mint Records) won us over initially with its terrible punnery, and then did it all over again with its musical smorgasbord of wonky electro, hip-house, breakbeats, synth- pop and general electronic wizardy. Showing a flagrant disregard for fitting into any scene that would
have him, tracks such as ‘Do What You Want’, featuring the increasingly prolific Yo Majesty, and ‘The Crowd C’est Beau’ have already been getting support from techno heads like Laurent Garnier and Dave Spoon, and a breakbeat bass crowd including Annie Nightingale and Rennie Pilgrim.
Listen to it at full volume with the lights off and your head in the woofer and we guarantee it’ll live up to its billing by leaving you feeling weak at the knees, too.
