Full line-ups unveiled


AS A PROMOTER, there are two basic routes you can take to filling your club. The more astute and switched on (read, skint) will book the latest up-and-comers, relying on the cool factor to pull in savvy punters, while those with a bit of wedge can afford the sure-fire crowd pullers. Then you have Manchester’s Warehouse Project, which for a few months every year, seems to book everyone on the planet worth seeing. From 23rd September to 1st January they have a dizzying array of stars and underground heroes, with everyone from David Guetta, Richie Hawtin and Basement Jaxx to Ricardo Villalobos and Flying Lotus. Our pick however, has to be Kieran Hebden’s (Four Tet) curated night on 20th November, which we’re most definitely mad for!


THE MAN NAMED MYSTRO


Strange things happen when you go to an air guitar contest. Firstly, grown men and woman leap around wielding invisible fl ying Vs, contorting their faces into varying degrees of mock, and probably quite often genuine, ecstasy. Secondly, you bump into UK hip-hop artists fi lming the whole event for a cable TV show. Said hip-hop artist, Mystro, passed us his forthcoming single, ‘Digmund Freud’ and we liked it so much, we caught up with him to fi nd out what else is going down. ..
