He tells Litebook: “I have no interest in nude shots that incessantly attempt to make statements about the so-called ‘perfect body’. I wanted to capture girls that weren’t trying to be beautiful, but were just being natural.” He adds: “I admit, I was enjoying a pretty wild lifestyle at that point in my life and there were always plenty of girls around. I thought it would be a good idea to shoot a book but I didn’t want to photograph girls I already knew, so I advertised for females to

And they queued up. “There were no rules, no pre- judgments about how they should look” he states. “Initially they just turned up at the flat for tea and a chat about my project. Then, if they wanted to come back to be photographed they were welcome to do so. And most did. At the second meeting we’d talk for a bit about day to day stuff and then I’d
say: ‘OK darling let’s get you naked’ And I’d just start shooting. There were girls naked in the kitchen with drinks and food and flowers and footballs; girls in the bedroom engaged in pillow fights; girls in the bath; naked girls with handbags, girls on bicycles in the hallway, girls with live chickens and a even a girl who agreed to pose with a slimy octopus slithering over her shoulder. She said she had never seen one before....but she let me lay it on her anyway and take pictures.”
