As our patient and our guest, we’d like to extend a sincere welcome to Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC) on behalf of administration, the medical staff and all hospital personnel. This guide will acquaint you with the many services provided by TGMC. For over 50 years we have been building a reputation based on quality and we are a nationally recognized health care organization that provides state-of-the-art technology and cutting edge services.

Over the last couple of years our team of health care professionals have been recognized with many national awards. Below are some of the many accomplishments of the TGMC team.
Quality - TGMC was awarded the prestigious Premier Award for Quality in the area of Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG). TGMC was the only hospital in the State of Louisiana recognized with this honor, which was achieved in partnership with our team of health care professionals, the members of the medical staff and the cardiologists and the cardiovascular surgeons of Cardiovascular Institute of South. In April of 2004, TGMC reached the milestone of completing 5,000 open-heart surgeries.
Employer of Choice - TGMC was awarded the Employer of Choice recognition, which is an award given to health care facilities for notable and distinguished employee dedication, retention and recruitment efforts, training and education programs.
Diagnostic Imaging - Our Imaging Department received the Imaging Facility of The Year by Advance Magazine for Imaging Professionals and was awarded accreditation in CT-Scan by the American College of Radiology. Currently, TGMC is the only accredited facility for CT-Scan in the State of Louisiana.
Rehab - Our Rehab Department met compliance on every standard, demonstrated exemplary performance in several areas and was given the highest accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
Materials Management - Our Materials Management Department was the recipient of a national award from an industry publication “Health Care Purchasing News”.
