Success for Black and White Campaign

Appeal is won and the badger cull in Wales is pronounced unlawful.

It was announced on July 14th that the Badger Trust has been successful in their Appeal against the Welsh Assembly. The ruling will make a cull of badgers in England and in Wales impossible without changes in the law. It has been a true success story of David taking on Goliath and proving that it can be done.

Secret World, with its Black and White campaign, has worked hard to

support the Badger Trust and all the charities working under the banner of Save The Badger. It was important to make the public aware of the cull that was soon to take place in Wales. This was despite scientific evidence that proved that culling badgers played no meaningful part in the control of Bovine TB in cattle. We were able to gain funding to be able to place 8 adverts in the Western Mail, a Welsh paper with 145,000 readership explaining about the proposed cull.
