Chaco’s Green Program BAR-BA-LOOT AND SWONEE SWAN APPROVED

A 24 SUMMER/FALL 2010

top innovator in the sandal industry, Chaco has created the longest lasting watersports

sandals on the market through their green pro- gram—ReChaco. “Chaco’s brand of green is really all about

slowing down a product’s journey to the land- fill,” explains ReChaco Manager Lisa Kondrat. Using high-quality materials such as polyure-

thane midsoles, which don’t compress or ab- sorb water like cheaper EVA foam, and a Vi- bram outsole keeps these sandals from piling up at waste sites. And when Chacos wear out, send them back.

“From 1991 to current, we’ve repaired 100,000 pairs,” says Kondrat. —SP
