Industry News Legrand powers up new division

Legrand has further strengthened its ‘powered by specialists’ position by combining the resources of two of its leading brands, Electrak and Zucchini within a new power distribution division. The new division includes Zucchini’s full busbar and transformer offering, the complete workplace power distribution range of Electrak, and all of Legrand’s existing power products, meaning it can lay claim to offering the most comprehensive range of busbar solutions on the market. Tony Greig, Chief Executive of Legrand UK and Ireland said: “In Zucchini and Electrak we have two leading power brands and by bringing them together in one division our aim is simple – we intend to become the market leader in busbar solutions.” In order to maximise the division’s potential, Legrand has created a specialist structure that includes the largest dedicated sales force in the

market. The company’s Sales Director for power distribution, John Clarke will work alongside National Sales Manager, Paul Clarke, lead Marketing Manager, Steve Marr, and a 13-strong sales team, to promote the division, which will also have its own all-encompassing catalogue. The division will also be supported by a specialist technical team to ensure high levels of customer service and satisfaction. “You only have to look to electrical installations in the likes of No 1 Hyde Park, the O2 Arena, Scotland Yard and T5 at Heathrow to appreciate the project pedigree of Electrak and Zucchini,” continued Tony Greig.

“Add to that the imminent launch of new Lightrak and Intersoc products that will help energise buildings and workstations respectively, and it’s fair to say that we have a great deal of confidence in the prospects for the power distribution division.”

The division is the third part of an operational split by Legrand that has seen the formation of three new divisions, namely cable management, wiring devices and power distribution. These have been created to underpin the company’s ‘powered by specialists’ strategy, the aim of which is to highlight the full-scope of its specialist credentials. “We take great pride in the

knowledge and passion of our workforce, and the fact that the scope of our product offering is such that we can respond rapidly to any order or specification,” added Tony Greig. “It is these attributes we are seeking to emphasise through our powered by specialists approach so that our target markets have a full appreciation of our specialist products, services and knowledge.” www.legrand.co.uk
