Learning with the NUT

NUT CPD’s professional learning partnerships

National College for School Leadership

Equal Access to Promotion (EAP) is the NCSL/NUT CPD leadership programme for black and minority ethnic teachers (with four to 12 years’ teaching experience) in leadership roles and aspiring to more senior roles. EAP courses will run throughout the 2010/11 school year.

BME participants engage in a pre-course investigation, attend a two-day residential seminar at the National College in Nottingham, and complete a follow-up leadership study in their schools. EAP is FREE to NUT members and others in the target audience.

For details and application: www.ncsl.org.uk/eap. (NB: BME teachers with two to five years’ experience are eligible for NUT CPD’s ‘Aspiring to Lead’ course – see page 3.)

University of Cumbria:

Online study groups of teachers without previous M-level accreditation will start from September 2010. Participants will complete two Masters-level online modules (in ‘mentoring and coaching’ and ‘critical enquiry’) each worth 30 credits.

For further information about this opportunity email mlevelcpd@nut.org.uk.

Travel expenses: NUT members can reclaim (with receipts/ mileage) for CPD at Stoke Rochford Hall (ie tt/73, TnC/8 and TF/75). No claims for one-day events (OD or ONP), nor where ‘R’ in the code (‘R’ indicates local/regional event).

Accommodation: Courses at Stoke Rochford Hall start at 11am on the fi rst day to allow time to travel, and dinner with B&B is provided at end of day one. Where other courses offer ‘optional dinner and B&B (£50)’ applicants can request this in advance.

Accreditation: Participants completing tt/73, tt/74, TnC/8 and ‘Internationalising learning’ (T2T) have the option to gain GTC’s Teacher Learning Academy (Stage 1) – read course flyers for details via NUT’s online CPD calendar.
