Usborne Young Writers’ Award 2010 runs until 20 October. It’s in the same format as in past years – five story starters by Usborne authors to be finished in fewer than 1,000 words – but with an exciting new prize!

Young Darwin (KS2-3)

The Natural History Museum, supported by the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, is running the Young Darwin Prize to find the best nature news video. The aim is for groups of pupils to make a short film about scientific projects they are involved in. The closing date is 31 August.

 Tetra Pak and the WWF-UK are searching for green ideas as part of a campaign to raise awareness of renewability. Tetra Pak will pay WWF for every idea, great or small.
