400 NORTH BOARD


The 400 North Board held their first trade show in conjunction with their


second quarter membership luncheon on Thursday, May 20. During lunch,


Chamber of Commerce Presidents from Lumpkin, Forsyth and Dawson County discussed exciting changes happening within the community and how these changes will impact real estate. In


addition, the board would like to thank Chairman Gigi Oliver for her leadership of this event and congratulate Ed Prine with Sonic Services Termite & Pest


Control, who won the vendor raffle for a five day/four night stay in Hawaii.


PICKENS COUNTY BOARD


The Pickens County board an- nounced Pickens High School students Brittany Brown and Andrew Westbrook as this year’s recipients of the PCBR Scholar- ships. The board congratulates both of these students for their academic excellence and com- munity involvement and wishes them the best in their future en- deavors.

The trade show was a tremendous success. All 28 booths were sold and there were more than 120 participants including exhibitors.


BARTOW AREA BOARD On May 25, the Bartow Area Board (BABR) presented collected supplies to the Bartow County Women’s Resource Center. The


Admission was free to the public. Entertainment included demonstrations from the local Paks karate group, Victory Baptist Church puppet ministry and Friese Studio of Music.


CAMDEN/ CHARLTON BOARD


The Camden/Charlton Board con- ducted its second successful Annual Home and Patio Show in April. The Home and Patio Show has grown from the board’s previous Affiliate Trade Show that was held in the board’s back conference room. This year more than 55 local businesses participated as vendors. During the Home and Patio Show the board held a bake and yard sale. Overall, more than $9,500 was raised during the event. The board donated $1,290 to one of their REALTOR

who is fighting cancer for her med- ical expenses. Since the show, four new businesses have become affili- ates and many of the vendors are planning on participating next year.

Resource Center supports Bartow families through a variety of services and


classes. The BABR Community Service Committee exists to


assist the membership in giving back to the community and conducts fund raisers and


provides volunteer opportuni- ties throughout the year.

GORDON ASSOCIATION


The Gordon Association raised more than $2,500 for


local charities this past spring. The association collected clothing for the School


Advocacy programs, raised more than $550 for the American Cancer Society and had a great turnout at


their pancake breakfast held at Longhorn, which raised more than $700. The association would like


to thank Angie Childers, chairman, and the entire


Community Service Commit- tee for planning so many wonderful fundraisers in May.
