Association of Colleges West Midlands
The Association of Colleges West Midlands (AoC WM) is pleased to be supporting Adult Learners’ Week in 2010.
Our colleges and other learning centres across the region are at the heart of enabling all learners to achieve their personal goals and aspirations.
The range of award winners and the very diverse backgrounds from which they come are evidence of the real power of learning to transform and enrich people’s lives,
whatever their age or previous experiences of learning. It’s easy to lose sight of the fact that for all learners, learning is very much about personal development and achievement,
whatever its ultimate purpose. Learning takes many forms and it’s wonderful to be able to celebrate them all during Adult Learners’ Week.
AoC WM congratulates all the nominees and winners of Regional Awards this year, and we particularly congratulate Mitch Salter for his award.
Mitch has had to overcome many of the barriers that we normally take for granted to get a good education and to progress to higher education.
His determination to succeed in the face of such difficult circumstances is a wonderful example of individual commitment and achievement.
