I take this opportunity to thank each of you for your support. In a time when the world is facing harsh economic realities, it is deeply gratifying to see so many of you reaching out to help our students. BCC continues to lead the way in forward-looking academic programs. Our diverse, talented faculty and staff guide and support our students. They may be recent high school graduates or older adults returning or starting out in their academic career – each of them come with a dream and, in a world beset with challenges, find educational and career opportunities that open new horizons for them.

We continue to reaffirm our vision and mission and validate what we stand for – which is that success can be achieved at Bronx Community College. Our students come to us with an ambition. They are eager to learn and willing to work hard. Many of them face challenges – they care for their young families and they work jobs – but they never lose sight of why they are here. We know that you share in the feeling of pride and deep satisfaction when our students are accepted at prestigious higher education institutions or move into productive careers.

Your support has been critical and your financial generosity has often provided that final stepping stone for our students as they reach for success. As we embark on our campaign to raise $19 million by 2015, we know that you will stand with us as we reach our target and help us transform the lives of our students.
