TOMORROW’S CLEANING APRIL 10

That is the thing with Greyland, they don’t just manufacture the Greyland brand (which I will come to in a moment), but they provide in- house labelling and design for many other companies, including EFive (The Supplies House), Hygicare, Cannon Hygiene, and Floorbrite to name but a few. The in-house labelling machine, on full throttle can produce up 10,000 labels a day, which means, from label to lid to package to delivery, your product could be with you in just 3 days to the exact specification that you requested.

to someone who wants it and to someone one who really cares about what they are doing.”

This certainly seems to be true as we enter the packaging room, where every single member of the team meets me with a smile. Now, some of you, like me, will never have seen what goes on behind closed doors in a production area such as this. It reminded me almost of Charlie and the Chocolate factory, with lotions and potions being transferred to a range of different bottles and containers at an impressive speed.

There was a machine for everything from labelling, lids, packaging and more, except each and every part of the process was overseen by a member of staff ensuring the products were of the highest finish and standard. I am sure that

you will agree that a little heart behind the industry is always a good thing.

For smaller jobs, the most accurate example of hand-labelling was used, with every label perfectly placed, unlike the common “slap and stick” method that we have all been witness to.

Now, the piece de resistance – the Greyland brand. Originally with just 50 products, the range now consists of a whopping 120. That is not all. Let me ask you to think for a moment. Imagine looking at a range of products on a shelf. How do you know which one to pick with all of those unusual names? While they may be catchy they don’t really tell you exactly what you are buying.

“Greyland’s brand does exactly what it says on the tin, so you don’t have to read the fine print. It makes for easy use and there are no complications,” explains Richard.

So, with such success already under Greyland’s belt - with 28 staff, 40,000 sq feet of storage, producing 200 pallets a week - what are the hopes for the future?

“We have seen sustained growth in our business, despite the recession,” Richard told me. “We believe that as far as our customers are concerned, we are still ‘getting it right`, but not being complacent about this will continue to endeavour to improve on all levels of customer service, from order process to delivery.”
