in Chicago and we’re going to invite every yacht club in the US,” says

venue for everyone to compare notes; what works, what doesn’t work, in
perpetuating participation in the yacht clubs and especially bringing in

”I’m also encouraging the youth movement right now by challenging
all of the some 52 US sailing committees to recruit one person in their
20s and one person in their 30s.” Now that’s a good idea that can
immediately be carried forward by yacht clubs as well.
Ironically, challenging economic times may present a real opportunity
for the yacht clubs. “This is a time when people are keeping their assets
