Symptoms
Telltale Signs If you have IC, you may have:
Frequency—the need to urinate eight or more times a day, and more than once at night
Urgency—feeling an urgent need to urinate (even right after a trip to the bathroom), and pain, pressure or spasms with urgency
Pain—pressure or tenderness in your lower abdomen, pain during sex, and pain that gets better or worse as your bladder fi lls or empties
Women may also have pain between the vagina and anus. And symptoms can get worse during or before menstruation. Men may also have pain between the anus and scrotum and in the penis or scrotum.
You don’t have to just “live with it.” Tell your doctor how your symptoms are impacting your life.
