Limit medicines when you have a cold.
Decongestants and antihistamines can tighten the muscles that help control urine flow and make it more difficult to urinate.
Try warm chicken noodle soup, or use a humidifier to loosen congestion.
Don’t wait to urinate.
Waiting too long to use the bathroom can cause your bladder to stretch. And not going when you feel the need can create a strong urge later.
Schedule regular bathroom visits. Time them with meals, so you don’t forget.
