ethic and discipline that will propel students to greater success on and off the court.”
For our students, this success can mean reaching a goal for an improved time on an agility drill or strength exercise. It
can also mean making positive decisions like helping up an opponent who falls during a game or having the courage to
try a new challenge like ‘pancake push-ups’.
For Warren and TAI, success means not only impacting a group of students at the Emily K Center, but also mentoring
college students and continuing research into character-based athletic programs that can have a broader impact on
urban communities.
And for Johan, success will be reaching his goal of “getting to play soccer in college and being a math teacher.” With
the Emily K Center and K Lab team behind him, he is well on his way.
