OACH IN AMERICA!
The world’s most popular search engine is so well-known it has became its own verb. When people are looking for info
these days, they “google” it. When sports fans seek info on coaches, they most often “google” Coach K.
With 2009 winding down, Google released many of its most popular search terms this year, with Coach K heading the list
of most searched coaches in sports (all levels). Other top sports searches included the Lakers, Celtics, Yankees, Red Sox,
Steelers Cowboys and Tiger Woods. Duke-UNC was the third-most popular rivalry search, behind Texas/Oklahoma and
Michigan/Ohio State. Away from sports, swine flu, Twitter, Michael Jackson and President Obama were some of the most
popular searches. In general, the Google results offer interesting insight about who and what is on the minds of Americans!
